In 2025 alone, the city’s direct funding of police will increase by $15.1 million per year, followed by another increase in 2026 of $16.6 million per year.

In 2024/25, spending on provincial policing will increase by $28.6 million, from $270.6 million in 2023/24 to almost $300 million this year.
